Part 2 “When You’re Between A Rock And A Hard Place”

You can just barely see in the first light of early morning. But as you wait, the light gets brighter and brighter. Don’t panic; just wait on God, and His plan will get brighter and brighter with time, until you stand in the full light of day. Someday (maybe not until you get to heaven) you will say, “Now I see why!” As someone has said, “Never judge the path God leads you on until you get to the end.” We don’t get to the end until we get to heaven.

When you are “between a rock and a hard place,” don’t panic and . . .

2. Be patient (14:13-14).
When the Israelites panic, Moses says to them, (14:13)

Exodus 14:13-14
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

All they had to do was stand still. But how do you do that in a crisis? By remembering God’s faithfulness and presence in the past, especially when you didn’t realize it at the time. We need to remember God is with us even when we can’t see Him or sense His Presence. He will lead us every step of the way. Listen to how this fact is declared in Psalm 77:19?

Psalm 77:19
19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

In every past crisis, though we couldn’t see Him, the Lord was there all the time. Next, Moses gives them a wonderful promise….

Exodus 14:14
14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

In other words, just stay calm and be patient.
